Circus Trivia, Did You Know?   Did You Know, that movie and television actor Arthur Lake, (Dagwood Bumstead in the Blondie series) was a member of the Silverlake circus family.

The Fisher and the Silverlake (also known as Timberlake), families, (related through marriage), have been in one form of show business or another since the 1800s, from vaudeville to circuses. The Fisher Bros. dates back to 1907, In 1920 Charles Fisher operated under the title.

The title was revised in 1971 by Melvin Silverlake and his wife Bea Kay when they took out the Fisher Bros. Circus. With one elephant, (Dixie) and equipment left behind from his brother Jimmy Silverlake's Clark and Walters Circus, the circus took to the road. The show was based in Indiana and toured mid-western and central United States.

In 1976 the Fisher Bros Circus was sold to Johnny Frazier and his brother Corky who continued to operated it for several years.
